POPPY FIELDS PORCELAIN RING
This contemporary ring celebrates organic forms and vibrant colors, creating a wearable sculpture of abstract botanical elegance. The piece is hand-sculpted from multiple pigmented Limoges porcelain clays, featuring delicate poppy-like flowers crafted from multiple pigmented Limoges porcelain clays in gray, green, black, and red. These glazed floral elements create a subtle contrast against the unglazed gray porcelain band. The creation process involves two firing cycles. After the initial bisque firing, the porcelain undergoes vitrification at cone 10 (2,350°F/1,288°C), transforming into a durable, non-porous material. The flowers receive a clear glaze that enhances their colors and creates a luminous finish, while the gray band remains unglazed to preserve its natural, stone-like quality.
