This ring captures the tranquil beauty of shoreline landscapes, translating nature's subtle textures into the medium of porcelain. The piece is hand-sculpted from moss green pigmented Limoges porcelain featuring delicate blue glaze veining that evokes tidal pools and water traces felt by receding waves. These distinct blue lines flow organically across the angular surface, mimicking the interplay of water and stone along Mediterranean coastlines at Isola d'Elba. The creation process involves two firing cycles. After the initial bisque firing, the porcelain undergoes vitrification at
cone 10 (2,350°F/1,288°C), transforming into a durable, non-porous material. The blue glaze is carefully applied to the veining, creating striking contrast against the unglazed green base, preserving its natural, stone-like texture.
