A.MANO Brooklyn is a creative destination nestled in the heart of Prospect Heights—a spot people often stumble into and stay for hours.

We are a gift and stationery shop with a cleverly curated selection of home décor, featuring work by local Brooklyn artists, as well as fun, unique gifts, stationery, greeting cards galore, and craft products. For those who want to linger, we also have a small, cute café serving Irving Farm Coffee and pastries from Colson and Balthazar Bakery, complemented by some outdoor space.

The store opened in 2020 as an e-commerce brand called Cain Sloan, which was a department store founded by my great grandfather in Nashville, TN in 1903.  When we moved into the new retail space at 585 Dean Street in November 2021, I rebranded as A.MANO Brooklyn to reflect the handmade nature of the work available in the store.

I have always tried to surround myself with the most interesting people and objects I can find.  I majored in Art History in college because I love looking at things and thinking about the people who make them and the role they play in our world.  I started A.MANO Brooklyn to support my creative community and to provide a safe and vibrant space for creative gatherings.  

This project has been filled with joy for me since day one.  Some of my favorite days are my visits to artists' studios where we talk about art and their work--past, present and future.  Studio visits and meetings with artists and makers, and the joy I see on a customer's face when they discover the perfect object for themselves or a loved one, is a confirmation that this is where I'm meant to be right now.

We're dedicated to inspiring creativity and providing a creative outlet for our community and all who happen to enter A.MANO Brooklyn.
