This set of six black and gold cocktail glasses designed by Frank Maietta feature mid-century graphics of the seven wonders of the ancient world-- The hanging gardens of Babylon, The Sphinx, The Colossus of Rhodes, The Pharos of Alexandria, Statue of Zeus, The Temple of Diana, and The Tomb of Mausolus.
It includes 8 highball glasses, 3 appetizer trays, and the carrying caddy. The app trays are a heavy clear glass with gold rims. They fit perfectly into the center of the caddy and are easily removable. The gold-tone metal caddy has black string wrapped handles - perfect for serving. To find the whole original set is extremely rare; this one is missing one appetizer tray. Besides just being fabulous, this set is highly functional for entertaining and serving.
The set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks to any glassware. Both the glasses and app trays have some minor paint loss, and very light scratching consistent with age and use. The caddy also has some light scratching consistent with use.
