Balsam captures a winter getaway in a cozy cabin tucked away in a forest of fragrant evergreens in Upstate New York. When lit, fresh top notes of fir needle lift to reveal warm middle notes of cedar and pine and a lingering base of resinous fir balsam.

Hand-poured in black matte glass vessels and packaged in textured embossed boxes, these candles glow gracefully and look beautiful in all interiors.

Made by Brooklyn Candle Studio in Brooklyn, New York with 100% soy wax for a clean burn, a cotton braided wick primed with vegetable wax, and fine perfume oils and essential oils sourced from around the world. No phthalates, dyes, or preservatives.

Sweet little birds, flowers, bees and animals are hand painted onto these delicate little porcelain buckets.  Each one is hand made by Stephanie DeArmond from slabs of porcelain pinched into shapes with carved images of botanicals, birds, animals and song lyrics.  They are poetic and a bit dreamlike.  

Hanji Paper : traditional, sustainable, and reusable

Hanji is a traditional Korean high-quality mulberry paper. Hanji is also for the modern world: an eco-friendly, harvested material. Trees aren’t cut down. The paper is made from the branches of one-year-old mulberry trees, which grow back. The Hanji trays are varnished with a natural shellac which makes them water-resistant. They can be washed by gently applying running water, or wiped with a wet towel, then dried with a towel and reused.  Available in Brown, Green & White.

Food Safe
The shellac finish is a natural resin secreted by the female lac bug on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. It’s well-known as a non-toxic food safe material. The shellac is vulnerable to heat and so your tray is recommended for use with cold and dry items or foods.

 THIS  is the vase you've been waiting for.  It's the perfect height and diameter for every kind of floral arrangement.  Whether it's a soft, billowy floral arrangement or a bunch of store bought tulips, the dimensions of this vessel perfectly match the natural movements of flowers.  I didn't get a good photo of it, but when those tulips opened up they bent and bloomed in every direction making an incredibly beautiful, wabi sabi arrangement that you only find in nature.

"When I lived in Chicago, I would bike/bus past a salon in Wicker Park called “fringe” but a bunch of the lower parts of the letters were cut off like someone took some thinning shears to the word. Ok fine. But it looked like I couldn’t quite tell if the signage was old and peeling off or actually intentional because it didn’t make the word look any more fringey! I was in Chicago last month. Same salon. Same sign. Same uncertainty. I’ve just been so upset for the last decade that I made these fringe inspired vases—ephemeral fabric turned millennium solid."

Flowers is a facsimile of the third of William Eggleston’s (born 1939) rare artist’s books, which was first published in an edition of only 15 by Caldecott Chubb in New York in 1978. The original Flowers was a linen-bound volume with red leather spine and corners recreating the look of a photo album, and housed in a slipcase. Within its pages were 12 original chromogenic coupler prints focused on the theme of flowers.

Originally created on clay the motifs were pressed and cut into soft speckled clay and tinted with underglaze. Skillfully developed into a textile keeping the tonality, texture, and line quality of the original clay manuscript.
